This is our Wildkin Lunch Bag Review. The Wildkin Lunch Bag is a handy answer for people needing portable and versatile transportation for their lunch. It implements a unique design that more resembles a briefcase or business bag rather than a cube-liked lunch bag. This is accomplished via a top side-access zipper compartment on the top that is insulated as well as a bottom compartment.
This allows items of different types and cooling requirements to be split up to provide both protection as well as maximize storage capabilities. For carrying, there are two options: the spacious removable shoulder strap as well as the built-in top carrying handle. This product comes in a huge variety of colors and patterns, is made of fabric, metal, and plastic, and stores approximately 8 quarts of volume.
Insulation Ability –
This lunch bag should be suitable for just about anybody’s needs for a viable lunch bag. The insulation that exists is more than acceptable. Also, the individualized compartments mean that you optimize the valuable insulated area for items that need to stay cold while moving the other items to the non-chilled section. This is a double benefit in that it helps to protect potentially fragile items from hard and heavy items and also means that you can maximize the cooling performance.
Mobility and Durability –
The design of this lunch bag is unique and we like it! Having the unique side-access compartment on the top and a separate compartment at the base not only helps for storing purposes but also is a nice space-saving and carrying solution. It feels more like a miniature briefcase than a square lunchbox.
As mentioned above, this also provides additional protection and cooling to those items that need it the most. The fact that it is two different carrying methods is a great feature as well. We prefer the shoulder strap due to the convenient shape of this product but the carrying handle works fine also. Our primary gripe is that the build quality is a bit lacking in a few areas. The insulation is notorious for falling apart after a relatively short period. Also, the zippers can break which can be quite frustrating.
Visual Appeal –
This lunch bag has one of the most diverse color and pattern palettes we have seen. This is a great touch and means that just about anybody will find a style that speaks to them. It is also handy in that the color or pattern takes up the entire external features and there isn’t much of a variation layout. We do like the overall design of the product and its slim nature, however. It gives it a much more professional feel.
Cost –
This product is in the lower levels of the premium price tier online. This is due to its small size relative to the price. It isn’t an inherently expensive cooler, but from a dollar per quart standpoint, it does creep up there.
Overall Rating –
The Wildkin Lunch Bag Review earns 3 out of 5 coolers. The cooling ability and the effective side-access compartment is what sells us on this product, despite the rather expensive purchase price and a couple of construction shortcomings.
