Igloo Quick and Cool Cooler Review

Igloo Quick and Cool Cooler Review

This is our Igloo Quick and Cool Cooler Review.  The Igloo Quick and Cool Cooler is a budget offering from Igloo for those looking to be able to store a lot of items but not break the bank in doing so.  It comes with a quick-access hatch that allows you to access the contents without opening the entire lid.  In addition, it has UV inhibitors, stain and odor-resistant liner, thread drain plug, and reinforced handles.  It comes in 100 and 150-quart examples (both in white) and is made of hard plastic.

Insulation ability –  2.5 star

Unfortunately, these ice boxes struggle quite a bit with cooling.  Despite Igloo’s claims that it will cool for up to 7 days, most people experience cooling ability closer to 3 to 4 days.  It is simply not insulated enough to keep the ice frozen for a week.  The lid is reasonably tight and the quick-access hatch definitely helps in maximizing ice life, however.

Mobility and durability –  2 star

These are rather large coolers that don’t have wheels, so it will be very difficult for one person to carry if it is full of items and ice.  A big issue with this is that both the handles as well as the hinges are made of plastic and are rather weak and prone to breaking, especially under heavy loads.  This is simply the price of admission if you want to save money on a large cooler.

Visual Appeal –  2 star

There isn’t a lot to look at with these products.  Very straightforward design with few aesthetic additions and no cup holders or other common features.  In addition, the fact that higher-quality handles and hinges weren’t used bumps down the overall look some as well when compared to other larger coolers on the market.

Cost –  4.5 star

Online prices are easily into the budget category.  This is a great price and among the most affordable products you will find on a dollar to quart basis.

Overall Rating –  2.5 star

The Igloo Quick and Cool Cooler Review earn 2.5 out of 5 coolers.  The performance of this cooler definitely has some issues.  It struggles with keeping items cold past 4 days despite higher claims and the weak handles and hinges mean that you might not get as much life out of this icebox as you would hope for.  However, it is extremely affordable for such a large cooler so if you plan on needing a larger cooler for a weekend trip and don’t anticipate moving it a lot this might be a good budget option.
